About this deal

Out of the box it was exactly what I expected and have experienced with many Clarke products over the years, it is a very cheaply made tool with many flimsy and barely adequate parts. The manual supplied with it is written in Chinglish and has countless mistakes, the first I came across was which way round to assemble the motor & gearbox drive pulleys as if you fit them as per the manual you cannot close the guard cover! If these four are not enough, here’s yet another interesting choice! Familiarize yourself with Axminster Hobby Series HBS200N Bandsaw If you look for the best affordable bandsaw, then our fourth recommendation will surely appeal to your taste! Here’s Silverline Trade Quality 350W Bandsaw and Converter Plug Blue SIL441563! CUSTOMERS IN SCOTLAND PLEASE RING 01582 471900 FOR CARRIAGE QUOTE. WE ARE UNABLE TO OFFER FREE DELIVERY TO SCOTLAND ON THIS ITEM.

Despite these gripes so far I am pleased with it as it has the potential to be a reasonably good (non-industrial) tool just not straight out of the box! This highly versatile top selling horizontal/vertical 3 speed machine is ideal for the professional metal worker. Fast simple change from horizontal to vertical operation – Mitre swivel vice allows cutting at any angle from 90-45 degree. Oil bath gearbox and precision bearings for long trouble free service. Complete with 245 x 250mm steel saw table for vertical use. Adjustable blade guides for greater cutting accuracy and longer blade life. Includes blade guarding (to latest standards) and safety no volts release switch. Complete with wheels & handle – General purposer steel blade. Motor 0.5 HP 230v – Cutting capacity- 105mm rd / 105 x 150mm flat – Blade speeds 20 , 29 , 50 M/min. Blade size – 13 x 0.625 x 1645mm Length. The new blades have arrived from Trucut for both bandsaws and I will wait until the Chinese blade is worn out before trying them on the Clarke saw. I have fitted a 3/8" x 24tpi on the Burgess saw and this is the best blade I have used on the machine so far, I had some from Dragon Saws but they did not last very long in use and one of theirs snapped at the weld whilst fitting! When I first used it I was frustrated on how slow it was, hanging weights on the handle to put more pressure on the blade, all that did was break blades and make it cut badly, I now program it's use, and just let it get on with the job. Having done a little more cutting with mine now I can agree with all of the above and particularly the last paragraph concerning Carke tools in general.
