About this deal

As for Laia, I liked her during the first two books, but lately it felt like she was just getting in the way.

There were a lot of details I didn’t remember from previous books, and the only characters I recognized were Laia, Elias, Helene, The Nightbringer, Harper, and Darin. Everything sucks and there are no small moments of happiness or joking, or fun that convince me to push through for the light at the end. It has been an amazing journey but at the same time it broke my heart and I'm sad about some people that we lost in the books. This is not intended to be a full statement of all your rights under the Distance Selling Regulations. I know that in this book she is 'blushing' and acting a bit different from her cool, calculated manner, BUT I loved it. What disheartens me is, most of them not receiving the satisfying ending they deserve, after everything that has happened.

I have to say, I did know Helene’s sister was going to be killed, especially after the beautiful moment that she had with Helene, but I didn’t expect it to happen so quickly. As I’ve mentioned all our characters are incredibly determined and even motivated by hope and love, so seeing a light shone on the goodness that they fight for was really important.

Throughout I’ve adored the friendships, enemies and family bonds but it wasn’t until now that I connected to the romance. As for Darin, I can understand him dying (though, personally, I don’t want him to die; he deserved a good life after the hell he’s gone through), but in my opinion, if he were to die, he deserved a better death. They will have to fight every step of the way to outsmart their enemies: the bloodthirsty Emperor Marcus; the merciless Commandant; the sadistic Warden of Kauf; and; most heartbreaking of all; Helene Elias former friend and the Empires newest Blood Shrike.

She was also my favorite character, and I love how she was so strong, so fierce, and so determined to save her people. So much suffering, so much pain, so much hurt that he’d carried for centuries, and all because of those Augurs. I’ve been saying what I thought was going to happen, I legit laid it all out, spoke to my friends and I was like this is how I think it’s going to end, I was wrong, in fact the whole book I was wrong because what I thought was going to happen like basic plot was just such a miss (but obviously I’m very glad).

I thought the potential of him and Helene was sweet and I definitely like the idea of them when developed. I loved the relationships she built up throughout the series and how people started to look up to her. New found friendships, I really loved Laia and Helene and then Helene and Musa, because this book is set a few months AFTER Reaper we weren’t able to see how it developed. It was a great way to increase the stakes of this book and add to the Nightbringer’s terrifying power, and I think it was done really well! If you still don't believe how good this book is, just know that I neglected food, water, sleep, and family while I rushed to finish this book. All of our books are 100% brand new, unread and purchased directly from the publishers in bulk allowing us to pass the huge savings on to you! Almost non-existent for the entire first 90 percent of the book, you can imagine how frustrated I would have been the entire first 500 pages!
