About this deal

There are 16 books in Robin Hobb’s fantasy world but these 3 make a great introduction and hard to put down once you are into it. Speaking of the Skill, though – Did anyone else think it was mildly annoying that both Fitz and Verity were able to Skill exactly when it happened to be most convenient for the plot? My irritation with Fitz grew by the page, and at this point he is very near to becoming my least favourite protagonist ever.

It’s no surprise he wanted Regal and his coterie dead and I don’t even blame him for his stupid actions.Like I wrote in one of my status updates, the entire book (and trilogy) is about failure after failure after failure. And that Kettle put it into words for him how Molly was a part of his childhood but not his adult life. Needless to say I'd probably strangle her if I were Fitz so kudos to my boy for maintaining his composure in the face of all that nonsense.

I have to say, it nearly killed me when Fitz tried to lie about his daughter to the fool, by pretending it was Verity's bastard. I must admit, I had not been expecting not-dead Fitz to be quite so wolfy, but I thought it was a super interesting perspective to read from! The second, whose name isn't even important enough for me to remember, is part of a travelling caravan that Fitz briefly joins. He seeks solitude and the great outdoors; he wishes for seclusi Assassin's Quest was everything that I hoped it would be, Fitz is a great character and by making him far from perfect Hobb makes him more identifiable.

Sure, Verity compelled him, but he was still surrounded by Regal’s coterie with a fatal wound in his arm!An Illustrated Edition from DelRey books in the US, published on the 2nd of March 2021 with ISBN 9780593157930. It is a shame because while the story is about Fitz, there are important side characters that have been built up over the previous books, and now don't get the storytelling they deserve, especially considering this is the finale. And seriously, all it took to wake those dragons up was dribbling a bit of blood on them and doing some Wit magic? However, they were very absent in this one as they also were in book two, so they didn’t feel like a very big threat and their defeat didn’t matter all that much to me.

By the time the reader has reached the end of the journey where we find out whether Fitz has succeeded or failed in his goal to reach his King, it's fairly clear where and how the book is going to end. A Spanish translation from La Factoría de Ideas in two parts in 2004, translated by Manuel de los Reyes.I mean seriously their chemistry is amazing and I ship them harder than I ever shipped Molly and Fitz. Fitz finally has to fend for himself and it’s kind of satisfying to see how much he sucks at it 🤣, there’s lots of Nighteyes, and, finally, more background on the Wit! She is also, very good at thinking about the inter play between her heroes and villains, and she's created a warm, complex, vividly detailed world upon which to play her story out.
