About this deal

During this informal chat, we learn more about Greg as a person, his passion and advocacy for children shining through and he provides his thoughts on how children can be supported by play and child-led activities, how we can start the conversations with children to learn about any anxieties they may have and help them by listening. I completed Drawing Club CPD before the winter break and I was so excited to implement what I had learnt by getting back into my nursery classroom straight away. Having flicked back, the quote was in fact ‘How should you perceive them as people’, (interesting how the switch of 2 words can create a possible miscommunication? It’s why I created Play Projects as a way of the Adult World to embrace childhood and begin to see its value. Yesterday, I introduced "The Shush Monster" to two of my FS1 classes, and it sparked tremendous excitement and joy.In regards to the changing of teacher roles, do you believe this should simply be a classroom exercise to be used when appropriate. And on an international stage, Drawing Club is making its way across the continents - I wonder where its magic will end up next? Greg puts into words what you know will be best for your class, giving you confidence to fight for these children and their right to play, whilst making sure the SLT remain happy!

A simple rebrand of writing, messaging offers both children and adults a delight in what might otherwise be a struggle. This is a lovely book that really helps practitioners understand and value the importance of play and it's place in education. Right away I could tell that Greg makes clear sense in what he's saying in that what our youngest children need is the "best version of you" and your understanding that they are children and will create noise, mess, chaos and fun! My own journey began by asking myself questions: Are the children in my care truly playing, truly thriving? The real power of Drawing Club lies in the liberation of teachers to be creative and to bring themselves into their own teaching - children aren’t the only ones in the room!
